Holy crap  Serge !! Hope you recover quick & get back on the bike.
That Birdsville Track changes so much from season to season. We drove it in the car about 3 yrs ago & it was a dream run.... 140kph on smooth hard dirt. It was better than the Hume Highway !

Been speaking with the insurance assessor today. It would appear that they have agreed to friegt the bike back to Melbourne and put it in the hands of my preffered repaired, which I'm very happy about.

I believe (From the pics I've seen), that we're mainly talking about plastics and cosmetics, all which should be bolt off/bolt on.  I didn't want to see it written-off,  simply because of the tyranny of distance.

More info as it comes to hand.

Breathing better and moving more freely every day.

We are BACK
just under 5200km all up.
After Serge hit the dirt we as a group decided to head North out of Birdsville to the nearest bitumen which was 60 km away after discussion with relevant locals told us that the previous month they had had 9000 people attend the big bash out at Big red and 7000 people at the Birdsville races the previous weekend all the roads were seriously chopped up. As parts of the Birdsville Track had been "Survival" riding with our heavily laden bikes & had only been rated as "Caution" & the other tracks were "4WD only" I thought "Phuc This" as I was shit scared & Serge's mate Bruce is a rank beginner he was even more apprehensive so North we went. Out to Boulia, then Winton down to Longreach, Blackall, Bourke, Cobar, then a Huge day of over 730km down to Onoins place in Caveat with roadkill & Roos, Goats even a Camel & wind from every direction except behind us to cope with, but we had a good time. Photos & more to follow
