This Adventure Riding has a Cracker up my Arse that's about to go BOOOM !!!

As most of you know I have a 750 Tenere, it's great but old and I would like something new, and keep the Tenere as a Vintage Bike and roll it out on Occasions.

So I have Ridden the BMW 800, DR boring, KLR Bus, and the Honda Africa Twin in both Manual & DCT versions.
This Morning I rode the Africa Twin " Again "  Then drove up to K & J Thomas in Whittlesea  to look at the SWM  Superdual model thinking it would be a Shitbox !!!
They only had the X model with 18" x 21" which comes in Red, there is another Model  Grey/Black T  17" x 19"  and it looks pretty Good. Build quality is pretty good, a few things look like Chinese, but it has some good gear .
So I put on the Gear, and took it for a good spin out the back of Whittlesea on Dirt tracks and back on the Tar via some twisties.   Not Bad, a bit like riding a 570 with the Mellow button on.  It's around 165 Kgs but when you get going it feels like a much lighter Bike, and fun as Fuk to Ride.
I was steering towards the bigger bikes, but after riding this little Rocket, I'm thinking it's easier to ride, it was doing 137 Klm on the Gravel and had more punch to go. Sitting on 100 Klm on the Tar was easy, and only had the Motor running at around 4000 RPM with plenty of Passing power for a 600cc Single.

So I think I will bite the Bullet and put some cash down !!!     $11300 on Road with Givi Panniers & LED lights    "

Hey Pete
like you I’ve ridden my fair share of Adv bikes recently on Phil’s ride I rode Adrian’s Husky 701 I’m sure it would be a fair bit dearer tho but if your budget allows that would get my vote.
I could probably tee up a test ride if you’re interested

Hmmmm.... big single!

Lots of pluses with this bike.  If (Heaven forbid) you put it down, you're talking less than a dirt bike. Beats that 20K for the Africa Twin.  And if it turns out that you don't like this whole ADV business, you've only invested that 11.5K.  And, for the uninitiated,  the SWM brand has been around for a looking time.

You know my thoughts.

So Peter that's made at the factory that built Husqvana's until KTM brought the Husky name.
The motor is the same as the 4 stroke motor the Husqvarna used before they were brought out by BMW, the same as the 450/510 TE's 04 - 10.
They have put 100 more CC's into it. I like that motor, with 100 more CC and EFI it would be a nice motor.
The 510 (501 CC)  has a bore and stroke of 97mm x 67.8 mm
That 600 has a bore and stroke of 100mm x 76.4mm a XR600 has a bore and stroke of 97.0 mm × 80.0 mm. The SWM will be  happy to rev!
Looks to be an interesting bike.

It's not bad at all, I was pretty impressed with the whole Bike, only a few things are a bit OK.  But it rides well on the Dirt & Tar, and steers well.  The only real piss off is the Seat, I would get it modified as it's weird !!!

I'm of the understanding that the seat (you don' like) is specific to the 21/18 configuration, to keep the seat night the same as the 19/17. Perhaps you could get a 19/17 seat put on a 21/18?

Might avoid the scallop!
