Getting ready to club reg the old XR350
So have done most of my roadworthy items fitted chain gaurd, rear mud flap and all lights and idicators working and fitted mirrors.
Now where i need some advice is on the brakes as the last time i hade a roadworthy done on the old girl would have been 18 years ago (lucky i keep all of my junk) is it was only ever fitted with rear brake light switch from factory but the club reg summary says front and rear after 1974,
So has any one else out there had any issues. :)

My understanding is that the bike has to comply with the items IT WAS RELEASED WITH.  So, if it didn't have a front brake switch when it was ADR'd, then it doesn't need one now.

Having said that, a RWC inspector would know for sure.  Check with Dave.  He should be able to give you a definitive answer.

Yes, Pat is still the man.  But he's somewhere up the Oodnadatta Track at the moment, so won't be contactable for at least another week.

Not sure myself on that one, generally only has to comply with the standards of the day.  I don't have the motorcycle part to my testers license.  But if you jump on Vic roads all the vsi/adr specs are on there but might be quicker to ring a bike shop.

Thanks Dave and Serge all booked in for Thursday week still not the wiser about the front brake but the road worthy bloke is looking into his big stack of books. I only found must have front brake light switch after 1974 and in another copy it states not needed for front brake if drum. Will leave it up to the experts. :)

What's a fair price theses days for a RWC  I nearly fell over as the last time I got one for a bike was over 15 years ago ?

Last one I got was $130, took about an hour. Have you got road legal knobby tyres on it? They did not like having "not for highway use" on the tyres and trying "I am only riding it off road" did not work.
The older I get, the slower I was.

Ditto what Mat said about tyres.  VicRoads make a big deal about 'road legal' rubber.

Same price $130 up front and yes I have to swap over the rear tire this weekend lucky I still have a near new Stone king thats dot rated that's so hard I took it off after only 3 rides. If I remember it was the stair case on one of Wills rides that made my mind up down to 7 psi and still could not push the tire to the rim
