Murray wanted to run it as an AMTRA ride, with no insurance available for those wanting to ride WITHOUT registration.
The Cooka Vinduro has always been open for non-registered bikes to enter, but has always been run with an MA event insurance policy (for those who needed it). In the past, it was conducted under the auspices of the Holbrook MC. Murray wanted it to be a 2 day event, which means a different insurance policy, and more $$$. To avoid this, Murray hoped to call it an AMTRA ride, with all entrants becoming and AMTRA member for the day, which is fine, except that it doesn't provide any insurance for non-registered bikes and that's the bit that stank!
So it appears that the event is back to a one dayer, with MA insurance through Holbrook.
