A mate and I left on the Tuesday so we could do the prologue ride from Peterborough to Burra on the Thursday. They hadnt had any rain in the area for months but it rained all day on the Thursday ride making for some pretty slick conditions. Being on smaller bikes (KTM 690's) we loved it but anyone on a big twin or any bikes with 50/50 tyres were struggling.

There was also an MTB event with about 120 riders going the opposite way to us. It was a miserable day for them with tyres clogging up with mud and stopping their wheels from turning, many riders having to carry their bikes.

Here's a little vid of my mate Mike having some fun on one of the slippery climbs out of a creek

The rain stopped overnight and the Friday ride from Peterborough to Angorichina was dry as were all the other days of the event. One of the reasons I decided to go that far for a ride was that the event organiser had arranged access to station tracks on private property in the area, thought I'd take the opportunity to ride tracks that I may never get access to again. It was well worth the drive there as the riding and scenery was superb.

No one (else) should have to contend with that wind!
