it all started on Friday arvo
We all stared to roll into Rainbow to meet & stay at the Pub. After talking Shit for a while we sat down & had a feed & spoke more shit .All of us where there bar Dave & Al who rolled in later.
The new day broke & we headed of to the servo , then of to ride point about 20'ks out of Rainbow.
The ride started with a pleasant fence line track then it was steeped up to whooped out single sand track at this stage i was thinking this is awesome but 180'ks of this we all will be knacked.
The day got easier as your mind & body conditioned it self to the surrounds.
After passing a shady wind mill that would have been great for lunch we continued on until Tim & my self run out of fuel [ thanks for the tow Nathan ] we had lunch in the Hottest & least amount of shaded area in the Desert.
After lunch we continued on for desert fun going to a look out with a hill climb after all reaching the top & looking out we went on.
Al steeped off  on the way down so some bike repairs where needed. At this stage it was getting hot we believe it would have been in the 40's we where all feeling it.
Meet up with Ross & Mick when we where close to Pinaroo 4 of us went to the Pub whilst 3 of the Hardcore did anther 50's.
Pinaroo pub was a nice place to stay & eat with some nice eye candy as well.
On day 2 we meet at the servo & left from there. The forecast was for 37 deg but the cloud cover was holding that temp back a bit. The tracks where different to Saturday but just as good & yes more deep sand. We had a few dunes that caught you out if ya let your guard down & after hearing about Emu's & Roo's we where all on edge of hitting one.
It was time for lunch again with me running out of fuel again with Al towing me in this time. [ thanks Al ]
Over lunch we refueled our self's & the bikes , we put ice from the eskie in our camel backs what a difference that made I don't no if it was that or the fact that i new that i was not going to run out of fuel with only 70'ks to go but the KTM was ridden in race mode & i was loving every min of it.
We got back to the Cars & was told it was 40 deg we felt grateful to be back with the knowledge that AC in the car was not far away.

i would like to thank the following.

Tim for organizing a seam less weekend.
Ross & Mick for being back up vehicle , cooking up lunch & carrying all the fuel & clothes.
Al , Dave , Nathan & Tim for being a great bunch of blokes to ride with , it all just flowed with no hold ups.

Looking forward to doing it again , ill do soothing about my fuel economy next time that larger tank just wasn't enough.

FRIKIN" AWSOME WEEKEND !!!

:)

Got to Rainbow around 8pm after a counter meal at Horsham withDave. Was supprised
to see Rossi and his mate Mick to be our support drivers.
Talked for some and a few red lemonades and it was bed time. Found out I had a
room to myself and a new double bed, not the usual take the mattress of the bed
and throw it on the floor of my last stay !!!!!!!!!!
Saturday morning fuel the support car and lat minute goodies and out to the
desert to gear up and load support car and we are off by about 9.30am. As I
progressed alone the first track I slowly worked myself into sand mode. (which
I love) After which lead into an awesome single whooped track up and along the
ridge line. Was traveling well as I passed Dave as he waved me on. Was one of
those tracks you just need to attack and I did, and I did, and I did, and I
did, and I did. 3 stops for a drink in total, but Dave didn't catch me, so
figured I was traveling ok?
Regroup and Dave soon arrived and then we were into the long soft sand runs,
with sweeping bends. I did an awesome job of taking off first and filming the
rest of the crew as they blasted past me one by one.
A bit of a wait at Mill some rock for the support car gave me a chance to
sort my speedo, only to have the fuse blow again. So stuff it. (a blessing
really, as no scary speed numbers for me to see, and never ran out of fuel as
the low level light never came on) We then started after Nath who was riding
till we met the support car, which none of us had see as we flew past. Once we
picked him up we rode past a LOVELY SHADY PICNIC TABLE BORE PUMP REST AREA, to
a shade free lovely sandy sun blasted area for lunch where Tim had run out of
fuel, and Paul arrive in tow from Nath. Tim and I got a fire going by some
sticks and saying burn, and that's about all it took. Fire was ready to cook on
when Rossi and Mick arrived. Mick and Tim cook lunch whilst Rossi dished out
the much needed jerry cans. We scramble under what shade we could find and ate
our lunch and cold drinks. (thanks very much boys for looking after us). We
were soon off with the day on fire we soon were on Catus Bore track and back
into the deep sand with more and more dunes. Love dunes on the way up, was
battling them on the way down. We rode up to a look out for an amazing view.
Shortly after this as I crested another dune I buttoned off for a corner I
thought I was going to fast for, and paid the price and buried my from wheel
into the sand and brought myself down hard. I saw stars, then struggled for
breath before feeling the pain in my leg where my bars had landed. Lucky enough
Dave was second behind me and got my bike off me and get my bearings again as I
caught my breath. After a few minutes we continued on to catch the group, were
the boys could see I was struggling and had some bike damage. They told me we
would ride on till we found some shade and put my bike back together. It wasn't
long and that's were we where, and Tim and Nath got stuck into to seeing why my
tank and shrouds where all over the place. Turns out my tank had swollen to a
15 litre tank in the sun and popped off its mounts. I had a bit of a nap in the
shade and tried to rehydrate myself and cool down. Once under way again we
flowed alone with more of the same until we hit a big road and found the
support car. With some more fuel and chain adjustments, Tim, Nath and Dave set
off to do the north end of Border track, whilst I lead Paul and the support car
into Pinnaroo. After room sorting and a shit shower, we enjoyed some cold
drinks with my red lemonades going down like no tomorrow. The boys soon arrive,
and showers and more drinks till dinner. Good dinner, more red lemonade and a walk
around the metropils that is Pinnaroo to look at some F'n big tractors it was
off to
bed.
Sunday, was an earlier start to try and beat the heat and breakfast and fuel at
the road house. Then back out of town to the coolest track called Boarder
Track. (love this track)A warm day, but with cloud cover it was very pleasant.
And I was very glad I had decide to ride again, as I'd finshed the day before
very dehydrated and my leg hurt like shit no matter how many pills I took. The day
just flowed and flowed and flowed and there was nothing but smiles and laughter
all day. We met the support car for lunch, after riding passed more nice
windmills to a very shady and nice spot. For food, cold drinks, lunch and ice
block for camel backs as the day was really heating up. 40+    :-(
After lunch and knowing only 70k to go everyone was on it and flying along,
until the cars appeared on the horizon and completely stuff, yet bummed it was
over for another year we sort shade and waited for the support car to catch us
up. Once changed, loaded and support car sorted it was good byes and 5 and a
half hours home.

Thanks Tim for making this ride happen and flow like no one else can, and
bringing these sorts of ride to Amtra that are so missing in recent years.
Thank Rossi and Mick, I know you two enjoyed yourselves and had a great time.
But from all of us, you don't realise what you did made it possible for the
weekend to even happen for us.
And thanks to all those that came and made the weekend the adventure it was,
with around 400+ travelled.
