Had an absolute blast !
Great mix of tracks and challenges
Started with 7 of us , got ghosted by 2 more , but took off around 9 as planned ,
first section was lots of black sand , fast flowing , some technical sections, then into the pines
Next area , heading sth went through some older unmaintained tracks with a few trees down, giving some challenges ,
managed to get by all of them.
Good mix of bikes had either a ding ding behind ya or the smell of one in front ( 3 ding dings) like a step back in time.

One tube change ( twice) on the track.   Around this area, bout half way across the mountain range, with the most greasy , clay and mudded tracks (  )  to wards our lunch spot where some ding ding fuel had been stashed , week before.

After lunch a figure 8 of some connecting technical sections in sand  again and we started heading home, back through the lovey muddy and slick stuff .and more tree obsticles
Jeff D had a broken gear shift by this stage so we headed back to the cars and Jeff and Shane "Erlzberg" loaded up and headed off.
As we were on 110ks by now , and still an hour of day light , Chappa owed us at least 10ks on our promised 120
So 5 of us took off for some flat out black sand tracks , for about 20Ks , and got us back absolutely buzzing

Quick pot and a parma on the way home , perfect day

Yep a great day out, a nice workout run before the desert.

Jeff you missed the "Chappa stories" as you were back with the tube repair group. While we were waiting Dave told us the stories of his young days riding in the area. Dave's family had a farm that we rode past, there is even a Chapman Rd.
This is why he knows the area so well, he was telling us of exploring the area before he had a license and the adventures he had. Dave said he often had his younger sister along who was also riding a bike, there were a few stories of her,  in one of them he ran over her!

There was the option hill that 4 of us and a go at and got to the top, me with a little assistance in moving the bike from one deep rut into another rut that ran to the top.
That last 21k was a blast, we were riding like carpark hoons, we were having so much fun we got back to the cars after the sun had set!
The whole day I don't think we saw another bike out there and that showed in the tracks as they weren't carved up.

Thanks Jeff and to lynton for tail for the day, Thanks Dave for putting on the ride.

When the next on is on down there people you want to be part of the ride, it's a great area.

Great ride Dave, the change from sand to slimy mud was a real blast Track conditions were really good the 4x4s haven't found this place yet. the gear lever on my little Kawka didn't like the pounding it was receiving and was feeling like jelly so Dave brought us back the easy way which allowed me to get back before it broke off. Can't wait to go back
Thanks again Dave and to Lynton and Jeff G for tailman duties.
