The day would have started early for everyone, well most, as we where meeting at 7am for an 7.45 take off. There was a little chill in the air which was lucky for Ken R as everyone was taking their time to get ready but by 7.45 as we where about to leave Ken rocked up, get ready Ken and we will go do an 1/2 loop and swing by to pick you up was the directive. Call out to Tailman Gary, we all good to go, yep, so off we went, did about 4 to 5klms and thought best I just do a regroup as their was a couple of guys heading up another track and did not want anyone following them, a quick recount determined that we had one missing, it was a bit quite as well so w soon worked out it was Frankie, we headed back gingerly to teh car park to find out from Ken he had done a warm up whilst we where reading to go and when he hit the car park and realised we where gone he headed off after us, but he had gone in the wrong direction, anyway Gaz managed to get him on the radio and by the time he got back Kenny was ready to go. We headed off and this time decided to go up Sawdust but as I neared the top and tried to slow for a corner I quickly realised my throttle was happy being on so a quick handful of brakes and onto its side stopped without harm but apparently Ted was behind me and he payed down in sympathy for me. A few minutes and we where all to teh top but no sign of why my throttle had stayed on. This made for an interesting ride as I was not game to really wind it on. We did as many easy trails as I could find in and out of the pines, had a couple of breaks and regroups and everyone was going along fine, then disaster hit, Teddy had a small off trying to avoid a downed Christmas tree and damaged a rib, we took a few minutes for him to catch his breath and he decided to keep ridding to see how it felt, after a little while he felt it was getting worse so we took him back to the car park where Scotty opted to stay and look out for him. Ken R decided that a half ride was enough for him too as he didn't like the dust so Ken stayed behind. We then headed off for another 1hr loop of the same sort of stuff and arrived back safe and sound at the cars at 12, quick change and pack up and headed to the pub for right on 1pm for a good lunch and more laughs and some much needed socialising.  To all that came to support Ted with his return to ridding, thank you very much. To Ted I hope the rib heals soon mate.

I arrived at the unloading area to see Ted already there, he was saying that he had no idea how long it would take him to get here, he hit the road a bit after 5am, after a short chat with Ted, Mark Clark rolled in, the rest didn't take long to show their faces.
As will said, we were ready to go & then Ken pulled up, Will got off his bike & said something to Ken, me being a bit on the deaf side missed out on what was said, I thought we were going to wait for Ken to get ready, so I thought I had time for a short spin out the back of the car parking area, nobody noticed that I did that, when I got back, they were all gone, I turned to the right & I thought I'd catch up to them, then the brain kicked in, I thought maybe they went the other way, Gary called me on the radio & told me to come back to the unloading area, I turned around & headed back, then I realized that i was going the wrong way,  U TURN, when I got back they were all ready to go out again.

We did some nice easy tracks, there was a little bit of dust, when I arrived to where Ted had his off & a few of the members standing there & a couple were checking him out, it looked real bad to see the way Ted was laying there in the ditch, I was very worried, when I got to him I was happy to see he was ok apart from a sore rib.

I was sitting next to Ted at the pub, when I said to him, I hope that off isn't going to put ya off from riding again, he was very quick to say........." HELL NO "  no way, that's good to hear mate.

Thanks Wilba for another great day out on the trails & Gary for doing the sweep, & the rest of you for making it a great day.
Don't mess with old bikers, they don't just look crazy. :)

My first motor bike ride at the age 13, 58 years later I'm still riding.

Thanks for the ride Will.

I got off to a late start after sleeping thru the alarm, then Frankie had a chat to me while the rest rode off then Ted had a lie down, crikey - the only "Gentleman" who kept it all together was Phil.

I hadn't had a ride for a while while the Doc was trying to sort my dicky chest out, finally some drugs that had me working again and I was really looking forward to the days ride and seeing Ted back out again.

Well my chest was good until we hit the dust, bugger, hadn't factored that in so had to bail. Talking to Mark later he mentioned the Wolfsnout air filters for riders, so when one turns up, hopefully I can keep trail riding.
It's just more time to be flat out!
