Sunday morning was upon us, and I thought I'd be first to arrive at the Marysville car park at 7:45am, but no, Mark was already there.

We chatted for a while whist waiting to see if any others were game to join us with such a warm day forecast, and eventually another car rocked up, followed closely by 2 more. It turned out to be another group who were going out for a cruise around the local trails, so we went back to waiting patiently.

After 8:30, it was becoming apparent that we were no more takers from AMTRA, so the two of us decided to go and explore some of the less used trails around the area.

Mark took the lead, and I did my best to keep close enough to him so that the dust wasn't too much of an issue.

It's been many years since I have been out riding with only one other person, and I'd forgotten how much simpler everything was. No waiting at corners and only minimal stops to discuss track options. The pace was good, and many of the tracks were awesome! The dust did make itself known again whilst trying to climb up the rocky sections on Strickland Spur Track, but the challenge was well worth it.

There was a bit of a quiet cruise back to the cars after that, as the heat was getting uncomfortable. At one stage on the way back, we were escorted by a large Wedge-tail Eagle that was using the road to stay below the tree canopy - majestic looking creatures, especially up close!

We were back at the cars by 11:30 with 75kms on the clock. Thanks for going ahead with the ride Mark - it was a hoot!

Cheers
