Hey guys and girls,  just thought I'd put this out there to see if anyone is keen on the idea.   I know I'm new to the club but I don't plan in leaving anytime soon,  just wanted some thoughts,  opinions,  ideas ect about running a charity ride day?  I'm currently involved with a charity called 'The and Marcus Paediatric Brainstem Tumour Fund'.  The fund holds numerous events such as classic car shows,  market days,  golf days,  fun runs,  trivia nights and dinner dances.   I was thinking organising a ride day would be great but what sort of ride event would be attractive to fellow club members and the public?  The fund is 100% non profit,   The money being raised is to fund research currently been undertaken here in Melbourne.   My nephews tumour is what's currently being researched to find a cure.  If anyone is interested please take the time to visit the FB site or the website for 'The Isabella and Marcus Paediatric Brainstem Tumour Fund' to get a better understanding of the fund.  www.isabellaandmarcusfund.org.au  Thank you for your time for reading this post and hope something good comes from it

I have been thinking of a car rally ending with a bbq and an afternoon ride for some time. I reckon that would be a good event as it allows family involvement and fun. Perhaps a rally ending at Daylesford and where the kids could ride as well? Unfortunately I am always too busy to get around to organising one. AMTRA had a few many years ago and they were well attended. $20 for a car entry or something would raise a bit of money.

That would be great Ian,  I don't really have any contacts in the rally community,  that would be a great day.

Not rally as i normal rally but a navigation rally answering questions about things along the route. No speed involved and the answers lead to the destination.

I used to do them with the Volkswagen club.  A very 80's thing to do, but always fun.  Finish point always included a bbq/picnic type get together.

I'd probably be in for something like that.
