Good on toby he’s hamging in there, but hes only gained overall lead because brabics bike blew up, Toby had very little chance to make up almost 9mins on him.

The Steven Bradbury argument... you're a hard man Tim!  Price may not even make it to the finish anyway, but it's a gutsy effort. I hate to think how he feels climbing on the bike every morning.... Cheers, Simon J.

PS:  Doubt we'll see a tearful press conference from Price, unlike the pathetic tennis and cricket players lately......made of a bit sterner stuff than that...!

Good on you Toby. Total legend!

At the end of this video he's in a fair bit of pain, almost a tear in the eye.

Hope he can hang on for a few more days.

The placings at the end of the video are wrong, so was the Dakar site yesterday.

The man standing one the top of the podium at the end is the winner, Dakar is a test of man and machine.

Yes I feel for the guy being let down by the bike but there are much worse ways to go out...  Andy Caldecott

Still in 1st place with final stage to go. Fingers crossed all goes well and he is standing on the top step at the end of the event. Quintanella in 2nd is going to be a real challenge as only a minute behind.
The older I get, the slower I was.

They are starting the bikes in reverse order, then a gap of 1:33 and then the top 5  leave for the last stage.
Toby will be last to leave at 8:33am their time 12:33am our time, Quintanella in 2nd leaves at 8:30, three minutes ahead of Toby.
So by 2:30 am we should know if he had it in him!
