I have noticed that there are people responding to rides on the calendar that have expired memberships.

I would like to remind everyone that AMTRA welcomes people to try 3 or 4 rides to decide whether AMTRA is the club for you or not. After that you are expected to join the club if you want to continue riding with us.
There is other places you can go if you do not want to join however the benefits of the small membership fee we ask far outweigh the benefits others can offer.

Thanks,
Ian Robinson - President.

Hey Ian
I'm new to this sport/hobby/leisure/activity.
Just bought myself a yamaha 250cc 2-stroke and are looking for places to ride. I'm based in Queensland.
I dont have a ma license...is this neccessary even if i have a offroad bike?
Your help will be much appreciated.

Hi Martin,

As you may see in another post, AMTRA do not presently have an active presence in QLD.

You should not need an MA licence to trail ride in QLD, you certainly don't in Vic. You will probably need a registered bike and motorcycle licence, though rules and practices can vary between states.

As for places and people to ride with in Qld you could look at Dalby moto, who put on a great series of weekend trail rides through SE QLD.

Hope you enjoy the new bike and hobby, it can be very addictive.

Regards

Mat.

Hi Martin,

Try the DSMRA in QLD. The DSMRA www.dsmra.asn.au has a presence in all states (and strong one in QLD).
