Hi all,

Just thought I would share a vid from a recent ride in Bruthen.

For those who know me, you will know the issues I have with downhills. I have tried heaps of things to help get over this fear, lately I have been trying even harder.

I have discovered the following

 - If I don't stop at the top, I can generally continue down the hill.
 - The CRF250x is much better at hills then the 230F
 - I just need to keep rolling, as long as the wheels are going round, I will have some sort of control.

I hope you get a good laugh out of this video. I know Im still really slow, but at least Im not walking the bike down.

See you on the next ride Smiley

Hey Nic,

I like the way you slap yourself in the head with the passing foliage!

I've seen you walk down some hills, and you're right, this is a better effort.  But you know what you need to do.....relax, and let the bike do what it's designed to do, (soak up the bumps and slow you up when you apply the breaks).

Keep up the good work, and hope to catch you on a ride again soon!

You need to remember hills are only flat ground at an angle!

Hey Nic....well done matey, i hope you remember me...Sandra aka bob..pink helmet...we met at Daylesford last year and we talked about hills...i also struggle with them. Im so proud of you and so damn happy for ya...that was a big hill. I know exactly how you feel and hearing you talk yourself through it was like listening to a recording of myself...i do just what you did. I have overcome a couple of hills at Woodside that have tortured and menaced me..there have been tears, frustration and just plain old fear...and yes i have been discovering to just let the bike roll down and let the engine brake do its thing...and to let go of the clutch..mind you my hubby Johnny (we just got married last December) is yelling ....LET THE CLUTCH GO...LET THE CLUTCH GO....LET THE CLUTCH GO...until i finally let it go then its so much easier..anyway a huge congrats to you...really felt for you when i watched the video....you go girl.

Thanks Guys!

Flat ground on an angle, I like that!

Of Course I remember you Sandra, I was meant to do a ride at Woodside and I think we had organised you to have a ride on the 250x. I got stuck with on-call for work so I had to miss out. Im def going to John's Dalesford ride in March, so we will have to get that organised for you Smiley

Marls!!! feels like I haven't seen you and Freddo for ages! Cant wait to catch up at Johns!
