Hi all,
the HCR will be run this year from a new location. The riding will be in an area that is easier to access for all with the challenge of navigating a new area. The date will be the 21st & 22nd of April. Entry forms will be posted on the web soon.

Have done the ride several times before, and I am keen to know the new location.

I read that this ride will be more newb friendly, can anyone tell us yet just how friendly it is?

I have a mate from work who is a total pleb and just got a new bike and his L plates who is totally keen on this ride when he heard me talking about it.

I'd hate to encourage him to sign up to something where he'd either:
A) Hurt himself.
B) Hate it and never come out again.

If someone could compare this years proposed ride to last years Abbeyard to Dargo (where we had to divert because of the seasonal road closure) it could give me something to scope on.
Eg...It would be about the same or piss easy compared to it.

Thanks.

Greg,
the course for the ride has not been finalised as yet. generally the ride is designed so that riders with even basic riding experience can cope and I am sure that if there is any difficult sections then there will be plenty of AMTRA members there to help.

Hi Greg,

I did that Dargo ride last year and this years HCR will be a lot easier. "Piss easy" in comparison. The cold of the Dargo ride up on the high plain will not be there as the bogies are very nice all year round. Another thing is that the bogies have a mix of terrain so an s12, m12, mc5 or similar will be fine unlike in the high country where they get shredded.

The Berg is behaving itself again. So see you there !
